IMPORTANT INFORMATION 7th September 2015

NOTE that the Helensburgh wind farm application has been withdrawn, though another one may be submitted. For details see under "News" on this website.

TEG-H will revise its website if a further wind farm planning application gets submitted for a site close to Helensburgh.

About TEG-H

The Turbines Evaluation Group (Helensburgh and area) has been set up to assess the previous (now provisionally withdrawn) planning application for a wind farm on a hill overlooking Helensburgh. TEG-H has a core committee, a reference group of objectors and several advisors.

Aims of TEG-H    [Based on official good practice guidance to community councils.]
TEG-H will evaluate any planning application for a wind farm near Helensburgh in the interests of the town and its surrounding area. This means gathering information and checking out facts and from these it draws conclusions and makes those public.

On the basis of evidence collected, TEG-H has concluded that this wind farm could be harmful to the character, landscape, economy and future of the town. TEG-H has now taken a stance of opposition to the wind farm and urges others to object.

TEG-H is non-party-political and independent of any financial or other obligations to any individual or organisation.

Are all details of the wind farm and related matters known?
No. Some aspects remain uncertain. To date, most public information has been issued by the developers. TEG-H considers that more needs to be ascertained, assessed and made public if local organisations and members of the public are to draw informed conclusions on whether or not to support a wind farm above Helensburgh.

Will TEG-H draw conclusions?
Yes. TEG-H has now assessed sufficient data to conclude that this wind farm should be contested. TEG-H has submitted objections which can be seen in the Objections section of this website.

Will TEG-H make its findings, analyses and conclusions available?
Yes.

Is TEG-H "representative"?
If that means elected by the people of Helensburgh by ballot, then no. Evaluation groups never are. Neither are the developers. If “representativeʼ” means working for the welfare of Helensburgh and informing its residents and others, then the answer is yes.

Can I contact TEG-H?
Yes. To contact TEG-H by email, click here or click on the black envelope icon at the top right of the page.
