IMPORTANT INFORMATION 7th September 2015

NOTE that the Helensburgh wind farm application has been withdrawn provisionally though another one may be submitted. For details see under "News" on this website.

What follows on this page is therefore past history and TEG-H will be revising its whole website if another planning application gets submitted.

Objections

At 25.01.15 there had been 23 letters of support for the wind farm and 351 letters of objection sent to Argyll and Bute Council. In addition to those, a petition with 205 signatures has been submitted objecting to the Helensburgh wind farm proposal.

Among these have been substantial objections from Scottish Natural Heritage and the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Authority and shorter objections from a range of national and local organisation, including three community councils. More representations are expected.

A vote taken at a public meeting called by the Helensburgh Community Council resulted in 32% support, 68% against the wind farm.

A questionnaire survey by the Rhu and Shandon Community Council showed 11% support, 89% against.

The developers' own questionnaire, sent by Royal Mail to households in Helensburgh, showed 38% support, 62% against.

Below you will see listed the five topic-based objections submitted by the Turbines Evaluation Group (TEG-H), followed by five specialist papers prepared for TEG-H.
